Duration: Permanent
Location: Melbourne
Job Ref: 205166
About the role
Ansvar Australia, who are proudly part of the Benefact Group, are looking for a Risk Consultant- ERM to join our Melbourne office.
As a Risk Consultant – Enterprise Risk, you'll work alongside senior consultants to help organisations across Ansvar's core sectors; care, community, education and faith strengthen their governance, manage risk more effectively and build lasting operational resilience.
This is a hands-on advisory role where you'll provide practical risk guidance, develop tools and resources, and turn emerging sector risks into real insights for clients, underwriters and broker partners alike.
Career Pathway & Opportunity
This role is a launchpad for a high-impact career in risk. Unlike traditional risk positions that focus narrowly on compliance, you'll gain rare exposure to board and executive advisory work, complex social sector organisations, enterprise risk management, and emerging risk research, all while developing your voice through thought leadership and facilitation.
Whether your ambitions lie in Enterprise Risk Consulting, Governance Advisory, Insurance Leadership, or Risk Strategy, this role gives you the breadth of experience to get there. You'll work across client consulting, sector advisory, and product development, building a skill set that opens doors well beyond a conventional risk career.
For the right person, this is a genuine stepping stone to Senior Risk Consultant, Sector Specialist, or Governance and Insurance Leadership roles, with the mentorship, exposure, and credibility to make that progression real.
What you'll be doing
Support client risk engagements — assist senior consultants in delivering enterprise risk framework reviews, governance reviews, risk maturity assessments and strategic risk workshops, including preparing briefing papers and engagement materials
Research and translate emerging risks — monitor regulatory reforms, sector developments and emerging trends across aged care, disability, education and faith sectors, turning insights into risk alerts, client tools and practical guidance resources
Develop practical tools and resources — support the creation and maintenance of risk toolkits, governance guides, templates, training materials and digital tools including RMA Online and the Ansvar Knowledge Centre
Facilitate training and client education — support the delivery of client workshops, webinars, broker education sessions and conference presentations, building toward independently facilitating sessions over time
Strengthen underwriting alignment — assist with risk referrals, provide research support for complex risks and contribute to improving internal specialist knowledge across the business
What you'll need to have
Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and governance practices
Ability to simplify and communicate complex risk concepts clearly
Well-developed research, analysis and written communication skills
Confident facilitation and presentation skills in client-facing settings
Curiosity, critical thinking and a proactive mindset with a willingness to learn
What we offer
A competitive salary - let's discuss it
Flexible, Hybrid working in modern CBD offices
Generous industry performance bonuses
Generous annual leave plus birthday, well-being, paid parental, volunteering & more
Tailored professional development programs
Recognised as the Best Australian Workplace for Fathers (2024)
Good Company Award Winner (2025)

We’re looking for someone curious and analytical who enjoys asking questions, learning how organisations work and developing their capability across risk consulting, governance and strategic advisory.
