About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our business Ecclesiastical Insurance in Gloucester to support the Compliance & Risk Manager and Compliance & Risk Specialist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a regulated environment within EPSL.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Compliance & Risk Manager with the implementation and ongoing embedding of FCA regulation of the funeral plan market
- Provide clear and practical explanation, advice and guidance on regulatory compliance matters to the wider business
- Oversee complaints & incident volumes and trends and report findings into Risk & Compliance Committee
- Support in the creation of Risk & Compliance specific training modules
- Produce and feed data into the Appointed Representative monitoring tool
- Compile and assess the Appointed Representative’s firm and individual applications and pass to Compliance & Risk Specialist for approval
- Input new Appointed Representative applications and changes via the FCA system (Connect)
- Produce data to support the maintenance of the EPSL Appointed Representative monitoring tool
- Support the Compliance & Risk Specialist in conducting monitoring activities on the Appointed Representative population including both desk-based and on-site reviews
- Support the Compliance & Risk Manager to deliver the EPSL Compliance Monitoring plan
- Support the Compliance & Risk Manager with Compliance reporting to the Risk & Compliance Committee, Board and Group
- Champion best conduct/TCF practice across EPSL and its Appointed Representatives/IARs to deliver great customer outcomes
- Support with the collation of risk management and incident reporting data on a monthly basis
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Familiar with FCA regulation, including Business Principles, TCF and conduct rules
- Experience in regulatory linked areas such as complaints handling, incident reporting and quality assurance
- Experience of a 1st line risk environment, including championing a positive risk management culture
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence a wide variety of stakeholders internally & externally.
- A working understanding of Appointed Representatives is desirable but not essential
