Key Account Manager
Ansvar are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager specialising in commercial insurance to target, win and retain business in our core market sectors

About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our business Ansvar. This role is Home based within the North East Region.
The role holder will manage and develop Broker relationships to generate sustainable, profitable growth through new business wins and retention of existing business.
Key responsibilities
- Own and proactively develop commercially successful and productive relationships with Broker panel.
- Acting within Ansvar’s risk appetite: target, win and retain business in our core market sectors, delivering profitable growth in line with plan through:
- Prospecting, including utilising and growing pipeline
- Planning and delivering agreed activity levels, ensuring CRM accurately reflects planned and actual activity
- Delivering a high quality sales process
- Driving profitable new business growth
- Driving performance and profitability of Broker panel
- Supporting renewal process
- Meeting retention and new business targets
- Proactively engage broker community using new business and schemes pipeline
- Maintaining prudent UW standards
- Work proactively with colleagues in Underwriting to deliver exceptional service to our brokers, effective risk selection and profitability of business underwritten
- Promote Ansvar’s Brand, values and reputation in its markets and with all customers, suppliers and partners by having a visible and credible market presence in order to enhance achievement of growth and profit targets.
- Work with Underwriters to negotiate favourable and acceptable terms on key commercial opportunities in line with our risk appetite.
- To promote other value added services such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Active member of sales academy
- Chartered Insurance Professional – ACII qualification or significant progress towards within agreed time frame
- Strong track record in a commercial insurance sales role (minimum 5 years) within the UK market
- Comfort with selling
- Highly credible and commercially focussed with a strong reputation for delivery and service.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships internally and externally
- Excellent communication, negotiation & presentation skills
- Positive, proactive, enthusiastic and value driven individual with a proven “can-do” attitude
