About the role
This is a new position responsible for supporting the business in ensuring products and schemes propositions deliver against our target market customer needs, commercial objectives and regulatory responsibilities.
Leading and shaping best practice and processes related to product governance, you will have the ability to streamline processes and/or apply new ways of working to improve efficiency. You will work closely with our product development team, looking at exciting new products and schemes opportunities, supporting good governance in product design and ensuring regulations/customers are appropriately considered, as well as working with the wider group governance team to share best practice.
You will also be involved in analysing portfolio information, working with portfolio analysts to compile reports and provide advice to management teams around product/scheme governance and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Keep up to date with customer sectors, market and competitor changes and appropriate legal and regulatory legislation, ensuring that our products and propositions are reviewed and benchmarked as required. E.g. support competitor wording comparisons as necessary.
- Working with Ansvar Risk & Compliance Consultant, keep abreast of emerging trends, risks opportunities and threats and make recommendations for development/improvement including but not limited to product, risk, claims and distribution.
- Lead and conduct the product review process and continue to develop and update the product oversight and governance processes and policy.
- Ensure our products meet regulatory requirements, continually reviewing and identifying opportunities for future improvements to help deliver excellent customer outcomes and ensure they deliver fair value.
- Work with internal stakeholders, brokers and external suppliers to support development and maintenance of products and propositions.
- Help ensure products deliver a great customer experience, working with the Underwriting and Claims Teams as well as our third-party insurers, brokers and providers to identify and make improvements as necessary.
- Liaise with external third parties involved in the delivery of products or propositions.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Good general insurance experience
- Knowledge of commercial insurance products and schemes gained through relevant role
- Understanding of the insurance regulatory requirements, specifically in relation to Product Oversight & Governance and Consumer Duty
- Ability to identify and interpret customer needs and outcomes
- Ability to maintain resilience when under pressure
- Ability to generate new ideas
- Strong collaboration skills across different business areas and excellent stakeholder management
- Proven track record of influencing of stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills
- Good IT skills particularly Excel
Organised and able to prioritise effectively
