About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Compliance Monitoring Officer to join our Group Risk and Compliance function based in our Gloucester office.
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing compliance monitoring reviews within and across all UK based SBUs within the Benefact Group, also executing monitoring reviews as required. Providing assurance to senior management that the business is operating within regulatory parameters, as defined by the regulatory bodies relevant to each SBU (primarily FCA).

Key responsibilities
- To deliver compliance monitoring activity as detailed within the Group Compliance monitoring plan, covering the end-to-end process from scoping, fieldwork, issue agreement, producing and issuing reports
- To contribute to the development of the annual Group Compliance monitoring plan in line with the Group Compliance monitoring methodology
- To liaise with stakeholders for each review allocated in order to facilitate the necessary access to people / systems / paperwork to enable testing to be conducted
- To discuss with Group business units where actions are required to correct or improve documents / procedures / practices / controls / etc. to ensure the business becomes / remains compliant with relevant rules and that customer outcomes are positive, agreeing action owners and appropriate target dates for those actions to be completed
- Monitor actions arising from Group Compliance monitoring activities to their conclusion, ensuring that business units have taken all action required of them to prevent reoccurrence of the finding
- Contribute to Group Compliance reports to senior management on the status of Group Compliance monitoring, including progression against the Group Compliance monitoring plan, summaries of final reports produced during the period and number of overdue actions arising from Group Compliance monitoring activity
- Undertake annual and periodic reviews of the Group Compliance monitoring methodology
- To oversee the delivery of monitoring activities undertaken by external 3rd parties on behalf of the Group, including regular touch points and tracking of annual budget
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Proven experience in a role engaged in a regulatory environment involving monitoring and assurance activity
- Proven competence across one or more of General Insurance, Investment Management, Funeral Planning and/or Broking and Advisory services in the UK
- Interpersonal skills suitable to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Report writing skills
